Elliott Baring is an experienced, science-driven cycling coach who blends proven training principles with over a decade of elite-level racing experience. Holding a degree in Exercise Physiology and having served as a Physiology Lab Director, Elliott brings an evidence-based and athlete-centered lens to coaching.
Elliott’s racing pursuits span both road and off-road disciplines, highlighted by his achievement of becoming a triple National Champion in Category 1 Mountain Biking (Short Track, Cross Country, and Marathon) in 2021. His elite results also include winning the Elite Men's Unbound 100, achieving a sub-7 hour finish at Leadville, and securing various race wins and podiums at the national level.
In the winter, Elliott maintains his high fitness level by focusing on skimo racing (ski mountaineering). His off-season training schedule incorporates significant cross-training through running, dedicated strength training, and uphill ski touring.
Beyond his personal racing, Elliott actively manages the World Bicycle Relief racing team and is often found supporting his athletes in person at key events. Elliott’s coaching style emphasizes applying the practical science of cycling physiology while balancing the broader demands of life, work, and long-term sustainability to instill the pillars of being a happy, healthy, and lifelong athlete.
